About Our Non-Profit Organization
Changing the future for human trafficking survivors through Christ’s love
With more than 25 years of experience in the field of human trafficking, Jennisue Jessen knows intimately the depths of trauma a body can endure. She was sold into the sex trade at age four by her grandfather, but God provided for her rescue and escape after a failed suicide attempt at age 17. Through the years of brutality, justice was woven into her DNA. Rather than being defined by her traumatic childhood, Jennisue uses her life experience to inform and ignite cultural and systemic impact in the counter-trafficking movement.
Our hearts are broken by the devastating effects of human trafficking, and we believe that every person is created with inherent worth and dignity. That’s why we exist – to fight this heinous crime through prevention, restoration, and leadership development. Our objective is to offer transformative hope and healing to those who have been trafficked for sex or labor and, through our global education initiatives, prevent this crime from being perpetuated.
We envision a just world where human trafficking is obsolete. Our aim is to empower human trafficking survivors to understand their innate wellness, profound resilience, and divine purpose so that they are equipped to overcome every challenge they face and become catalysts for creating a world free from trafficking. We seek to inspire a supportive community beyond our organization that shines a light in the darkness and brings about transformation.
Compass 31 was God’s idea and setting captives free is His work. Jeremiah proclaims that He is the Father to the fatherless and the Redeemer of the captive. “Watch now… as I gather My people from the ends of the earth…In that day, I will lead them beside quiet streams of water and take them upon a straight path where they will not stumble. Why? Because I am their father” – Jeremiah 31:8-9

Developed over 25 years of research and direct experience, this theory draws on the lived experiences of survivors, those actively engaged in commercial sex, and fieldworkers from 6 different countries. Through The Spectrum of Empowerment, you’ll gain a macro view of the choices individuals make as they move from victimization to empowerment, revealing new possibilities for understanding how this complex issue can be addressed in our society.
